The concise entrance building, which alignes towards the axis ‘Neuer Dammgraben’, has developed a clear long-distance effect due to its dominance by elevation and architectural position of the gateway. Southward of the building, the revolving plinth conveys consistently. There, the forecourt will be embraced spatially. Under an umbrella-shaped glass, the visitors will be guided towards the main entrance. By the inviting geometry of the unclosing wings, the square appears as well as generous as equilibrated. The new main entrance West has been conceived as an accentuated building complex with a rising architectural gesture of the reception. A striking vista and significant landmarks such as the ‘Messeturm’ or the ‘flying roof’ of the exhibition hall 11 have been indicatory.

The entrance building has been designed lucid and transparent. With its areas of closed and open spaces it represents memorable different streams of visitors. The conception exhibition hall 11 with its accentuation of the plinth areas facilitate an attractive variety of terrace areas and open spaces in connection with the catering. Furthermore, the plinth conception has been offering an ideal arrangement for illumination and air supply. The office spaces can be used very flexible due to coherent arrangements with the operations of the trade fair.
