
The new office building for the WGV strives for a high building density and an optimal usage of the property. Natural lighting for the offices was also a premise in the design concept. Offices for a staff of 600 people was the goal for the fist phase of construction. urban design
The guiding principle is a self-evident completion of the urban layout. The intervention closes the gap in Feinstrasse 1 to complete the eastern boarder of the city block. Existing street alignments, drip lines and roof heights are incorporated and resumed in the new building. The concept of closing the urban grid is resumed in the second construction phase.



Green recreational zones are developed in the center of the complex. Shielded by the buildings the leisure areas are protected from traffic noise and up grade the view from the offices. The dense planting in the yards and on the roofs contribute to the enhancement of the climate. The high density of offices profit from an access system with small traffic areas and natural lighting.
